Where's McGyver?
The integrated circuit used in Race-Tin is HLEC's TX2 (RX2 in the receiver) or compatible. This integrated circuit deals with 5 functions and is very easy to use. To help you understanding every circuit upgrade exposed in this site, or to help you designing new ones, you'll find here some useful datas:
  • HLEC's TX-2 / RX-2 datasheet
  • Pericom Technology's PT8A977 datasheet sometimes used instead of TX-2
  • Remote controler's diagram
  • Receiver's diagram
  • Inside HKE 3V 6 pin relays
  • Inside NEC 3V 8 relays relays
    Circuit designs
Here you'll find various designs. Some are widely known, others come from commercial kits and upgrades, and the last are totally genuine. Food to feed the McGyver in you!

    Dominiz' corner
Dominiz sends me new circuit designs on a regular basis. I'll publish his creations here.
  • Using 3 AA batteries on a standard Race-Tin.
  • Bridging of NPN transistors and use of a 3rd battery (more speed + brake, no reverse).
  • VTEC Turbo at 4.8V safe for the PCB!
